Anotação XVIII

A energia gasta na busca de felicidade devia ser utilizada para o conforto na infelicidade.

São duas buscas sem fim, mas a última não traz esperanças impertinentes...

I suppose we don't look for unhappiness... Either way if it wasn't for the neverending quest for happiness, or something close to it, life would be meaningless. Actually our existence, every single action we take, has the sole purpose of achieving happiness. Thus it might be a very useful way of spending energy, and we can always fool ourselves to believe that happiness is indeed achievable.
In a way, we can view the act of living as a permanent act of fooling ourselves.
